People come from all over to meet with family and friends to enjoy live entertainment, food, and arts & crafts. The Festival offers children the opportunity to perform in their community. The Festival began in 1995 and has grown each year. The Festival will be held at the Douglas County Comprehensive High School, Douglasville, GA on Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Santa will be available for pictures by a local photographer during the Festival. Children can come make ornaments and decorate gingerbread cookies. The proceeds from the “Angels of the World” Festival will support a new initiative of direct services empowering parents and family members to provide services for their own family members with Developmental Disabilities in Douglas County. DCDC is now able to provide adults and children in Douglas County with Natural Support Enhancement services. Once children leave the school system’s special education program few services are available for these young people to remain active in their community. DCDC’s program will focus on working closely with family and community leaders to bring about active participation of all in our community. Please contact Christy Turner at 770-949-7789 for more information about the Festival. Groups performing at this year’s Festival include: Mirror Lake Elementary Chorus, Chapel Hill Elementary Chorus, Fairplay Middle School Chorus, Chestnut Log Middle School Chorus, New Manchester Elementary Chorus, Burnett Elementary Chorus, Factory Shoals Middle School Chorus, Dorsett Shoals Elementary Chorus, Turner Middle School Chorus, and Montessori School of Douglas County Elementary Chorus.
